A day to behold. Nick hill scored what must be a first in Kennington CC history if not OCA league hsitory: a double ton NOT OUT!. As is my practice nowadays I elected to bat after winning the toss. Nick took full advantage of an early life nad punished Chesterton big time. Once he got his eye in, it was impossible to contain him. He took advantge of a short boundary hitting 13 lusty 6's and 24 4's. He was well supported by all upper and middle order batsman in maintaining a runrate of 5 per over during most of the match which soared in the last 15 overs to take Kennington CC to what in my time at the club is the highest score in 45 overs that I have seen. Luke showed all his potential as an outstanding bowler and ably kept the "no balls" to a minumum and ran back to the mark after each ball allowing him to take 4 wickets rapido!. We also fielded and took our catches well and I must applaud the team in preparing well for matches by arriving early and warming up and getting in the zone!. Alas the rain prevented us from winning the game. A very hopeful future if we keep playing like this.CK
