A big thank you to those dye-hard cricketers willing to travel 1hr 10 minutes to London despite the threat of rain. As it turns out we had a great day with the rain stopping at 2pm allowing a full 40 over match. Kennington won the toss and elected to field. 9 bowlers were used with very good performances from Misha who bowled accurately without a lot of luck. Tom Dudly in his opening match for Kennington, picked up 6 wickets. However the opposition posted a match winning total of 204 runs with two half centuries from Satchin Vara and Sharvan. Kennington tactically played very well maintaining the required run rate at all times. 7 players scored double figures with 4 players scoring >20, showing that our batsman were all capable. However there were no conversions to half centuries and this was the difference between the two teams with Kennington eventually bowled out for 161 after 34overs. Nevertheless encouraging signs for our league fixtures with many good bowling and batting performances to give players a lot of confidence............AND NORM ROBINS scored 17 more runs in one match than in all matches last season...Well done all.
